The history of leading industrial company HAKANSSON goes back to 1890’s. Mr Lars HAKANSSON who was an innovative iron-stell industry worker had a patent for a new steel hardening method, and founded his company at that time. Mr Gustaf Håkansson started to use high frequency technology (induction hardening) in 1946, and made a leading innovation for band saw blades heat treatment. In 1974 Håkansson Sågblad company opened the factory in Åmål and then opened two new factories in the following years. In 1977 the company started the production of Bi-Metal saw blades. Håkansson Sågblad is the unique producer of Bi-Metal band saw blades in the world. Håkansson Sågblad exports its band saw blades made in Åmål, Sweden to many countries worldwide. The leading Swedish manufacturing technology and the experience since 1944 result in worldwide best quality band saw blades. Håkansson band saw blades are used for cutting stainless steel, hard metals, wooden, ice, plastic and many other materials. Independent from the material type, the result is always best cutting performance and long saw blade lifetime. All the raw material supply and the production are hundred percent in Sweden. Håkansson is the only company which manufactures band saw blades in Sweden. The production is totally automatic and the company only specialized in production of band saw blades.
