The chip removal operation in threading with a tap seems simpler than operations with other cutting tools. However, removing the chips, lubricating the cutting edges, determining the relationship between speed and feed according to the tap pitch and such facts make tapping a complex operation. The prerequisites (tap selection, cutting conditions, etc.) must be determined in the best way for the tap to be used properly.
